Letter from Abella
I am an Effective Altruist. What does this mean? It means I am committed to doing the most possible good as effectively as possible.
Why am I an Effective Altruist? Because I am a philosopher. One of the main branches of philosophy is logic, and logic requires that if the premises are true, the conclusion must also be true. Therefore, I believe it logically follows that human beings ought to do the most good for the greatest number of people.
My way of practicing Effective Altruism is by raising funds for the most effective life-saving charities, organizations that save the most lives with the greatest efficiency. Their aim is to save the lives of the poorest people in the world, which is effectively the most important thing one can do.
This year, I wanted to be creative and make fundraising for these charities fun by auctioning off some of my most meaningful possessions. These are articles of clothing I’ve worn throughout my life and career. I can’t wait to see how this turns out.
These charities are researched by GiveWell.org whose goal is to produce the worlds top research on where to give.
Thank you so much for helping me save lives.

Charity Information
New Incentives
New Incentives operates a highly effective Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program that combats child mortality in Nigeria. By providing small cash incentives to caregivers, they dramatically increase routine childhood vaccination rates in regions with some of the world’s lowest immunization coverage. Independent randomized controlled trials have confirmed that this program saves lives at an exceptional cost-effectiveness ratio, making every donated dollar go further.
Helen Keller International
Helen Keller International is a global leader in preventing blindness, malnutrition, and disease in vulnerable communities. Their flagship Vitamin A Supplementation program protects millions of children from vision loss and deadly infections. Backed by strong evidence and decades of impact, HKI delivers essential nutrition and health interventions with world-class efficiency and accountability.
Malaria Consortium US
Malaria Consortium is one of the foremost authorities on preventing and treating malaria in high-risk regions. Their Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) programs reach children during the most dangerous transmission seasons, providing lifesaving preventive treatments at extremely low cost. Extensive studies show that SMC significantly reduces malaria illness and death, making this one of the most cost-effective global health strategies available.
Against Malaria Foundation (US)
The Against Malaria Foundation (AMF) distributes long-lasting insecticidal nets to protect families from malaria-carrying mosquitoes. Their model includes precise local data collection, transparent reporting, and independent audit of net distribution. AMF is consistently rated as one of the world’s top charities for its ability to save lives at a remarkably low cost per intervention.
A Shared Mission: Maximum Global Impact
By supporting these four organizations, this auction directs funds to interventions proven to prevent disease, reduce child mortality, and save lives at scale. Every dollar raised will immediately contribute to high-impact programs that have been independently verified to create extraordinary humanitarian return.
Thank you for supporting a project designed to create real, measurable change worldwide.
